Give your turkey a french twist this year !

Chestnuts are a holiday tradition in southern France. They grow in the Ardeche area very close to where we grew up.  But we do not use them in our stuffing mix ; it would make the stuffing even more "stuffing" and dry ....

The secret is to simply warm them up before to serve in the gravy made with all the juices the turkey has made while cooking .No cream, no butter . That easy !  And it is called a "dinde aux marrons "

( These cooked and canned chestnuts ( imported from France ) are available at Whole Foods .)
